Naantali home of Moomin World, and nothing else...

This chapter should really be titled Naantali, as the Turku arena was about 5km outside of Turku and we were staying 16km away in the Naantali Spa Hotel, so we really had no reason to venture over to Turku! The hotel is advertised as a Saga hotel, so imagine a nice, peaceful place, right by the lake, with a spa complex; pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi...then we arrived!

So we spent most of our time in the pools and jacuzzi, with a quick trip into the village along the coastal path. It's a lovely place with trees down to the lake where small boats are moored up ready for weekends away amongst the islands...one of which is home to Moomin World!..for those of us who remember the very popular, if not slightly strange children's cartoon of the 80's! Unfortunately, as with everything else, it was closed! The summer season has just ended, the kids are back in school and all the fun things are shut, boo!

  ...we did have one thing to entertain us tho, wardrobe! Turned into Santa's Grotto a year or two ago, the venue decided to keep it for the festive season each year, as so much work had gone into it!!...so rather than being out in a foyer type area, we moved ourselves into the grotto for fun with the rocking chair...even tho we thought it was impossible to tip over on them, Ahmet managed to go flying right over the back, taking the christmas tree down with him!!..never trust an actor not to wreck things!!
