Maggots with shiny Poo!

Text written in: English

Yea apparently maggots with shiny poo is the less commonly used name for Glow worms! and these are what we saw a lot of during our Tumo Tumo Toobing caving trip through the Waitomo caves. It was really good fun, although quite hard work considering its probaly the only real exercise ive done since ive been here! Anyway we started off getting kitted up, which for me and fi took most of time allowed for the trip! We found our pasty English skin doesn't slip into wetsuits as easily as those Aussie Surfers make it look! Climbing down into the cave and trying to get my arse through the little gap was the first challenge of the day! Followed by clambering over and around Stalactights and stalacmights, before swimming in the freezing water, toobing along in a tyre whilst watching the glow worms, trying to laugh at our instructors jokes, more swimming, toobing then daylight about an hour later! All in all a pleasant experiance, especailly when the geographer in Fi really came out and put us all, even the instructor, to shame with her knowledge of rock formations!

That night, throughly exhaust from the shock of exercise, and armed with a pot of tea and a creme egg we watched a few films at the hostel beforer getting an early night and realising the girls in our room new Dave and Jo Pugh! Small world!
