Auckland

 

Day 1

 

After an hour we landed in the Kingdom of Tonga, we stayed in the plane for half an hour then we took off for Auckland. We watched Miss Poter before landing. We called the hostel from the airport before jumping in the shuttle bus with a really grumpy old man who shouted at the driver. When we got to the hostel we thought the room was a bit small for the price but it was adequate. Mia made an appointment with the doctor, then we had lunch in the queens ferry hotel pub. Then we watched spiderman 3 which I thought was two hours to long.

 

Day 2

 

We walked around the shops and the markets today, we had lunch in an Irish bar called Father Teds, it had really bad service. Then we went to the virgin and sta offices to sort out our tickets and our Australian visas. Then it was back to the cinema to watch Man of the Year which was a really good film.

 

Day 3

 

Today we had a look at more markets, Mia got a new bag and I got some badges. We took the long walk up to K road and had a mooch. We went into the illicit clothing shop which was very cool and I got a new t shirt. Then we went to the sky tower and watched people jumping off it before going to the top and having toasties and looking at the great views of Auckland. Then we went back to the hostel and dyed Mia's hair before heading into town for a drink.

 

Day 4

 

Woken up by house keeping this morning, not to happy about that. As it was a Sunday we went and got a huge roast. Then we headed down to the cinema and watched a film called provoked about an asian girl who was beaten by her husband and sent to prison. Then we just chilled at the hostel and did the washing and all that jazz.

 

Day 5

 

We watched some reruns of the football while having a few beers in the local pub. Then we went to the backpacker travel agent and sorted out our trip to Kelly Tarlton's aquarium tomorrow. While we were there we saw big mike from Samoa which was cool and he insisted we go to his place for a roast. Then Mia bought a computer and I bought a pair of jeans, the first I've owned in years.
