Hillsborough River State Park

Text written in: English

October 13, 2007

Since the weather is beginning to cool down a bit, we decided to take a weekend camping trip.  So we chose to go to Hillsborough River State Park in Thonotosassa, which is just north east of Tampa.  It's a nice park and very popular so it was quite busy when we arrived.  We had a lovely campsite and spent the two days hiking, bike riding and relaxing.  We saw more butterflies here than any other park we've ever been to.

This park has a huge swimming pool, the biggest I've ever seen, and it was being enjoyed by hundreds of people all weekend.   There were also lots of families canoeing and picnicing all over the grounds.  There were birthday parties and even a wedding reception going on in one of the many pavillions.  It's a park for all events.

Hopefully now that the heat of summer is fading, we will be going on many more camping trips before the end of the year.
