Start of an adventure

Well, after a week we're leaving Auckland behind.

Lots of the New Zealanders we met before we came really don't like Auckland but I have to say that I really do.  It's clean, friendly & there are parts with a lot of character.  However, as I've not seen any more of the country I can't compare it.

 We've had a busy week.  We opened our bank accounts on Monday with minimum fuss, even got our cards there & then so that was brilliant.  I have to say that we've been totally taken aback by the customer service you get here & the ease of everything.  It's just so efficient.  I guess when you have such a small population in comparison to the UK it's going to be better.

We bought a car, I won't even go in to how little petrol costs here, even in NZ terms & they say it's expensive!  Again, we did everything in a day. Road tax, MOT, insurance & AA all done within a few hours. 

We've done some more sightseeing - we went to dinner up the Skytower the other night which was ace & visited Waiheke Island just off the coast...maybe we'll see a lot more of there in the future.....

 

This morning we're off in our jallopy whom we've named Hobson up to the Northland to do some more exploring.
