if you get the choice never arrive in KL at 3am in the morning as we did, the only thing that is open is MCdonalds (it has saved our asses more times than we care to mention on this trip) and even that has a limited lifespan. we went in at exactly the wrong time to get a breakfast -who knew- or a meal so we opted for anything, which was nuggets. we thought you cant just doss around and not buy anything but nooooo not in KL Mc donalds is like some hostel for people waiting for the city to wake up. loads of people were sleeping in the upper floors sprawlled out on the benches no bother!
after a few (7) hours we was finally let into our hotel room complete with raving mad old lady outside just for the comedy value.
there isnt a whole lot to do in KL but we did the highlights China town, Little India, botanical gardens and the towers. if you happen to be a millionaire KL is good for shopping (keith had to drag me away from Tiffany's windows) but we enjoyed just wandering around the city not having to do anything.
i even managed to put some food down for the crazy lady (she stayed on the same door step every day ) she had got to inspect some ciggarette butts so i put some food in her basket and ran - she had the habit of garbling at me if i made eye contact.
right off to the beach now we feel we have neglected our tans.
