love cats ??? love kuching.

finally borneo and the northern hemisphere and a whole month to wander around looking for the weird and wonderful. we started out in bako national park to look for the elusive proboscos monkeys, a short boat ride and we was in the heart of the national park and the first animal we see??? no not the monkeys some great mud skippers we had never seen anything like it . when troubled they just hop across the water like a skipping stone brilliant!

after a day of spotting mcaques and mud skippers and a rather nice squirrel we thought we would never see our big nosed friends but then as we was traveling back to the pier to go i saw some red monkeys and a person watching them, thinking they was langurs i pointed them out to keith and suddenly the "person" got up from where they was sitting and it was a HUGE proboscos male. keith being the more able of the two climbed up the pier from the beach to get some pictures and a closer look, me being less able to climb wandered around till i found some steps but made it to where keith was just in time to see a whole troop of them babies and all,i was estatic!

i couldve stayed there all day just watching them graze on the grass and playing but we had to go but we knew this was just the start of the wonderful things we was going to see in borneo.

kuching city is beautiful quite unlike any city we have seen, and they have such a fondness for cats they have several statues dedicated to them and a whole museum full of cat stuff, the cat lady inside me couldnt resist a visit.

we also decided to be abit normal for a few hours and went to see batman :) was superb definatly a great.

oh and i have found some more food i can eat so my menu is getting bigger by the day, keith on the other hand has found a fondness for deepfried tiny fish i swear its going to be beetles and spiders next.

no orangutangs yet but give us time we have another jungle trip in sabah booked.
