it should have been alot easier than it was but nooooo we couldnt just get one bus to "jogja" no we had to get 4 buses and a ferry and it was hairy! to anyone attempting to go from bali to java just go with a direct tour bus company dont whatever you do get the local bus.
when in jogja we found out its the indoneasian holidays so everything half decent was booked up so we tramped into our dingy hotel and wandered out for mc donalds (i hadnt eaten in 24hrs due to buses and wat not) thanks be for maccy ds with air con and a big mac all ready for us lol.
we decided to get down to some better planning of the trip after the night before and finally decided instead of getting the 3 day boat to borneo we would fly from jakarta unfortunatly that means half of our 24hour trip yesterday couldve been avoided but hey we live we learn.
while in jogja we seen the wonderful buddist temple of borabudor and we climbed the 7 floors to nirvana, as a side show for the holidaying indies they got to take pictures of themselves with a very embaressed very white blond girl and her highly amused boy friend, we had whole familes grannies and all coming up, so somewhere in some indie living room there is going to be me and keith grinning out at them.
we booked a trip to take us to mount bromo which is on the east side of java and then back to jogja this totalled 20 hours in a mini bus in two days with a nice wander up a volcano in the morning
on our return to jogja we went to see the sultans house but we didnt see any sultanas! oh and we went to a very nice batique making place with some masters and bought our first souvenier!
