bitch of a walk

Text written in: English

peru incase it has missed some of you has little else to do but trekking up mountains to see things people put up there 500 yrs ago, so we thought just for a change and for the criac we would put ourselves through it again, machu picchu just wasnt enough.

this time we booked with a tour company and ventured off into the wilderness with about 10 or so other people (not very intrepid i know) the whole point of the tour was to get a bit of a meals eye view of a condor, but we managed to strech this out over 3 days and up and down the second largest canyon in the world (the largest is just down the road and is still disputed by locals).

we saw one condor on the first day and started to make the long hike to the local village the was half way up the otherside. after walking down keith decided it would be better to run down the side of a mountain and believing him i followed, and to his credit we got down faster and didnt slip once, i have found that going up is harder and theres no way on earth that i can keep up with keith he got up first on both sides of the mountain and he's very proud.

the highlights of this trek were for keith going into the actual highest Irish pub in the world (dont be fooled by cusco) and for me finding fergals long lost relatives, about 40 guniea pigs all looking like fergal ! i wasnt allowed to liberate them though.

oh and we saw about 10 condors
