into the jungle!

Text written in: English

went on our first trip into the amazon jungle. got a tour group called exdos tours in for three days of hacking through the rainforest and spotting wierd bugs.

on our way to the jungle we stopped off at a spa that was owned by some dude who was trying to make everything look like it was inspired by goudi, was a very good effect, here we seen some wooly monkeys they were really tame but could go back to the forset if they wanted to one of them took a shine to keith and tried to rip his top off. when we got to the jungle we went on a hike to see some waterfalls with the guide and a local little boy who was really cool, we swam in the waterfalls it was so cold but was nice because we were so hot from the forest. oh and we got invited to a engagement party of some of the locals the bride to be was wasted and they had only 8 bottles of beer between them and a box of wine and fanta (yum) and their was at least 8 people drinking. oh and keith seen a snake ! now i wont say he screamed like a girl but use your imagination.

on the second day we went into the jungle looking for the indeginous village. we went by canoe down the river through some rapids (never go in a boat with keith, just dont do it) we got to see the volcano sangay erupting but thankfully it was from a good bit away, we was treated to a shamen ceromony in which he "cleaned" some people (now im a bit of a sinic and i swear he was just a dirty old man) that night we found (thanks to our guide who could sniff a drink a mile off) the only pub for miles, there was skins hanging around so now i know why most of the animals in the forest are endagered. that night we thought we was being invaded by animals because our cabbana started shakeing and keith very bravely went out (without his glasses mind) to look for the disturbence no animals were found and until the morning it was a complete mystery until we realised there was actually a drunk sleeping in the room next to us that keith hadnt spotted (due to lack of glasses).

on the third day we had to leave but not with out one final trek into the jungle thanks to the brilliant marcell, he managed to get us cutting a new trail through the virgin rainforest and i must say at times i do think he was a lil bit lost. we came out of the whole experience smelling alot and filthy from head to toe.

cant wait to get back into the jungle again tho....keith and kim

oh and we had some lovly lemon flavoured ants, and got taught how to survive in the rainforest.
