Hello hello
Heres pics for our first two days in Quito. In that time weve climbed very steep streets, watched a man be savaged by a pack of dogs, seen two KFCs!, found out what drinking at high altitutde can do to you especially when its all you can drink for two hours for $3.50!
Seen a few humming birds in the park and a little red bird not properly identified yet but not much nature yet. Still in city for two more days. Going to the equator today should be good.
Quito is an amazing city, great views of mountains everywhere and more cathedrals than you can shake a stick at. hostel has the best views of the whole place nearly.
In the pictures you will see our trip to the equator which really cool.did a few experiments and the toilet trick is true! also went to a big volcano hole but only managed to walk half way down it. an old woman with a stick past us out but i put that down to aclimatisation.
Also have gone up a big mounatin in a cable car. Quite hairy at time but well worth it for the view. We were 4100m above sea level, a new record for myself first after the cooley hills!
har har har (kim) i finally get to tell u all about the animals, nothing spectacular yet a couple of humming birds and some vermillion fly catchers (ooooh) and unfortunatly some guinea pigs destined for the pot. dont worry im not going around petting everything as its probably likely that i will regret it. oh and sloth count is 3! all stuffed but 3 non the less.
we`ve found ourselves some new friends from london and im so jealous cause they are going to the galapogos in a few days.
right gota go for carbonara (this is the best hostel ever) will take pictures of any interesting nature i see dnt u worry.
Keith & Kim
