Cheetahs and Rock Climbing

Text written in: English

We visited a cheetah park today! They'd raised some from cubs and kept them at home like housecats, and kept the rescued ones (brought in from farms where they'd have been killed for hunting cows etc.) out on a huge range. We watched them all get fed chunks of donkey, some in the backyard, and the rest from a truck in the pasture.

We camped in the bush at Spitskoppe, a little rocky mountain in the desert. We spent the afternoon trying to climb to the top by scrambling over the rocks and scrub. Steve made it quite far but figured - when he came across the python skeleton in the crevass and passed the experienced rock climbers with all their gear - that maybe we were out of our depth! Watched a beautiful sunset with everyone and a cooler full of 'punch'.
