First Motorbike Lesson

Text written in: English

This morning I had my first motorbike lesson!! I instantly realised that flip flops were not the best things to be wearing on my feet!! I rode the bike round the local school playground on my own which was pretty scary to start with and I wasn't able to master changing gear straightaway!! In the afternoon Andrea and I walked to the beach and had a bit of a swim to cool off. In the afternoon we did some exploring and walked to the local Wat where we met some friendly Thai people. They gave us some sweet jelly-like noodles which was really nice of them but the noodles did make me want to throw up!! I managed to eat most of them to be polite but it was difficult!! We saw a mummified Monk while we were there! - He'd been dead for over 30 years but still had skin and looked remarkably well preserved!! I have been really lucky in terms of food as Tuanjit's sister owns a restaurant and has been cooking for me both at lunchtime and dinner time. I must admit it's not very easy to eat fried noodles at lunchtime when it's boiling hot but I'm getting used to it!!
