... still in Munich

Text written in: English

My last day or so in Munich was a little bit anticlimactic. I didn't go on any tours or go see any new churches or buildings. I pretty much did what I had been doing for the past 2 days.

I headed out to see the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. It was at night so it wasn't going off, but still impressive. After that I was gonna meet up with a friend from Amsterdam, but that never panned out. I had a few beers, and then headed over to the Wombats Hostel where a few friends that I had met in Prague were staying. There were two groups. First there were the two chicks from Australia, and the other was a couple from Wyoming. Both of them were really cool, and I had a good last night in Europe. I had some beers and even some shots, but I made sure not to get too drunk for the long ass ride home tomorrow.

The thing that I'll remember most about the Wombat Hostel is the argument that I got into with an Aussie. She said that it doesn't snow in Southern California... I mean anywhere. She said that it snows up at Tahoe in Northern California, but it doesn't snow in So. Cal.... hahahaha... I couldn't contain myself. This chick was sooo ignorant. She said that she knows because her cousin lived in Sunset Beach for like 2 years and it never snowed on her. I tried telling her that it really doesn't snow at the lower elevations in So. Cal., but up in the mountains it snows... Big Bear, Wright Wood, Bear Mountain. She couldn't get it through her skull even after I got some others to back me up.

Well... I took a few pix... had a few drinks, and headed on back to my hostel.

Here we are coming out of the Marienplatz Metro Station. The lion is the symbol that you see all over Munich. I had to find one and do the fighter pose with it. The Rathaus-Glockenspiel of Munich is the most famous glockenspiel in the world, and a major tourist attraction in Munich. Another night shot of the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. I notice a trend forming... back to the Hofbrauhaus!!! I was trying some dark beer this time. It was ok, but I liked the original better. I took my guide book out n' it had some pictures of my friends from back home. Here I am finishing my beer with my beer n' pictures on the table. AAAHHHHHH... my last beer here at the Hofbrauhaus. After this one we are off to a few other beer halls. Here we are over at the Augustiner beer hall. This place was ok, but I felt it had tooo many young kids, plus it was raining pretty hard outside n' we were all wet from the rain. Still at the Augustiner n' having another beer. Reading up on a few other things to do n' enjoying the company of my friends. That's all you need... beer, pictures, guide book, and a menu. I don't know if you can tell or not... but it was snowing outside our hostel. Pretty much the whole last day in Munich it was snowing on me. I had to take a picture of the Foot Locker for my buddy John Ho... yeah... you can get your Nike's out there too. Damn... it's our last night in Munich, and I'm wandering around Marienplatz again. There were a good amount of tourists out for a weekday night, and it's raining. Another close look at the Glockenspiel before I go. Here's a cool shot of the Marian column and The New City Hall behind it. I met up with a couple of friends that I met in Prague. They were staying at the Wombat. They were from Wyoming, and the two chicks on the top were from Oz. Damn... everyone smoking is definatly something that I'll always remember.
