Well this is the last chance to check out the hidden gems of Melbourne, we only have 3 days to seek out the best Italian eatery.  A challenge i set while trying not to think about the waves smashing into our ferry crossing from Tasmania.  Think about food and it will take your mind off the seasickness.  There is no logic whatsoever behind that train of thought.

Brunetties V Pellegrinis, for 11 sheets of pasta on the lasagne its Brunetties, modern functionality Brunetties.  Thats about it.  The best place to eat is Pellegrinis "66 Bourke Street", This Melbourne institution has been feeding the masses for decades, people who flock to this classic Italian espresso bar for honest Italian home-style cooking ( cooked a by lovely Maria ).  Set in a long narrow space, the prime positions are at the bar .This is an alcohol free zone but trust me, you would be crazy to miss it.  Sisto and Nino are are amazing, the two partners who make this espresso bar what it is, all the staff are friendly, witty and waiting to hand out some classical italian charm.  The food is good, coffee is great and the ambience more than steals your heart.

A few sips in Madame Brussles and then its all over time to retire from the poster world and head back to Sydney.
