OK, so after seeing ROTS at new Years and of course as you all know Stretch popping the question we were really looking forward to this gig.
The biggest change since the New Years gig was the then singer Ian Astbury decided to depart the band to focus on getting The Cult back to the big time. To my absolute surprise and delight, ex Fuel singer Brett Scallions stepped up to the plate as the new singer, thus the new ROTS has been born.
So being a massive Fuel fan I was very keen & excited to see what Brett could do. Our mate who keeps up to date on Rider's news said the forums had been a little skeptical of Brett but most who had seen him were pleasantly surprised.
So we headed to The Mean Fiddler, caught up with some of the New Year's crew and waited in anticipation for the show. During our wait we spotted the bass player Phil Chen who was/is extremely friendly towards the ladies. I said G'day after having met him at New Years, we had a little chat and then we saw some of the sound/security crew, Owen and the Hulk Hogan look a like (see photos from 01/01/07).
From the moment the music started I new this was going to be a wicked gig. The band came on stage and started cranking "Love Me Two Times" and the crowd went nuts. I quickly made my way to the front of the stage to boogie up a storm. Brett was amazing; he seemed really into the gig, which was awesome to see after Ian's poor "act" earlier in the year. The crowd seemed very pleased with the performance, as were we. After two hours of non-stop singing and dancing the night was over but what an amazing performance!!!
