Me voilà rendue à Rabat, la capitale du Maroc. ça fait du bien de changer d'air après Fès et Meknès, deux villes qui, en fin de compte, se ressemblent beaucoup. Rabat est plus moderne, et on voit tout de suite que c'est la capitale. Rabat bénéficie aussi de son emplacement au bord de l'océan Atlantique. J'ai vraiment hâte de visiter la Kasbah des Oudaias -- une très ancienne partie de Rabat, la Chellah -- qui abrite l'ancienne ville romaine de Sala Colonia, la Tour Hassan, le Palais Royal (toujours habité, puisque le Maroc est un royaume) et le Musée d'archéologie. L'auberge où nous demeurons est vraiment bien -- ce qui au Maroc veut dire propre -- et les murs sont d'un rose indescriptible... c'est la couleur qui va me réveiller demain matin. :)

Here I am, in Rabat, the Moroccan capital. It's refreshing to see something different from Fès and Meknès, two cities which, all things considered, are very similar. Rabat is much more modern, and you see right away that it's the capital. It also benefits from great ocean views, since it sits right on the Atlantic ocean. I can't wait to visit the Kasbah des Oudaias -- a very ancient part of Rabat, the Chellah -- which houses the old Roman city of Sala Colonia, the Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace (still used, since Morocco is a kingdom), and the Archeology Museum. The hostel where we're staying is very nice -- which in Morocco means clean -- and the pink walls are indescribable... it's the colour that will wake me up in the morning. :)
