Around Australia there are various towns that have "Big" things in them e.g the big prawn, the big pineapple and Coffs Harbour is home to the "Big Banana." I'm not sure how it all started or their significance but they are the most tackiest things I've ever seen - they are basically just massive plastic models of a banana or prawn etc.
Anyway, my 1st day in Coffs Harbour I thought I should visit it so I managed to drag Tim along too who was staying at my hostel. We could have done a plantation tour but it was quite expensive for what it was and I wasn't really too interested in the planting and growth of bananas!!! We visited a sweet factory and saw the worlds largest puzzle which was highly exciting....erm NOT! Then we went on a toboggan ride - again highly exciting!! In the afternoon we walked round the town and did a walk up to Muttonbird Island where you can whale watch (although I didn't see any!)
On my 2nd day I walked around the other end of town then went to a Dolphin and Seal show which was cool - I even got a kiss from a dolphin and seal - the dolphin was really nice but the seal was a bit smelly and slobbery!!
I then got the night bus to Sydney at 9:30pm.
