From Nasca, our travels took us up the desert coast to Pisco, stopping at an oasis on the way, where one could sand board on the vast dunes. Buddies of ours who did this in Namibia came back saying that it was hot, lots of hard work, and you end up with sand in every orifice - so Dave and I decided not to board. In fact, it was only young Jenny and Suzie who did. But, Dave and I decided to support them by holding their cameras and purses, walking right up the dunes with them (hot, but a great workout), provide advice (!!!) and encouragement, and take photos of them coming down. We had great fun!
