Woo Ha! Got y'all in Czech

Travelling....The open road stretched out before you....the limitless possibilities...whoever said that life is about the Journey and not the destination has never got a National Express coach or flown from Stanstead Airport.

After the dreary journey from gloomy London to a warm and sunny Brno we proceded to get rediculously lost and wandered round the city looking like utter newbie tourists with our schvutniks and upside down map. After being given several wrong directions we cunningly worked out how to use the map and found what was to be our first home of the trip.

Brno. Hometown of Petr Cech, who I'm guessing is the only person from Brno anyone's heard of. Despite being the second largest city in the country, no one really seems to live here. The place is bustling with a few tourists and the restaurants and bars are all open, but there don't appear to be any local people going about their daily business (whatever the daily business of a Brno resident might be). We later found out that a large proportion of the regular city population consists of students from all areas parts of the Moravian Region of the country, who were currently at home preparing for the new Term which started a couple of days after we were due to leave. Arrive a week later and we would have been swamped in gorgeous Czech student ladies. Shit.

Despite the diminished eye candy there was still a fair bit to be seen. The city centre itself has enough to spend a day or two wandering around and checking things out. We ascended the town hall to the top of the tower for a view of the whole city. It was a comical scene that saw me pinned to the tower wall barely able to move through sheer virtigo induced terror. In spite of my mortal fear of heights I still summoned the courage to pose for a nice photo overlooking some rooftops. The castle was a tad bland and disappointing but not wholly unenjoyable experience, and the weather was stunning the whole time.

After dark we found a cool little rooftop bar on the top floor of a bloody high building. After sinking a few reasonably priced cocktails my fear of heights had subsided significantly enough for me to join Dylan outside on the patio and view the rather attractive city lights before sinking a few more and staggering back to Pension Euginie, where we watched Ally Mcbeal in Czech and drunkenly laughed ourselves to sleep and dreamt about the wierd and wonderful (mostly drunken) adventures that lay ahead...

7 hours of travelling with me and Dylan was already nosediving off the wagon Brno High Street. No Chavs, although there is a KFC.
