And off we go...

Text written in: English

...with no travel plans and no return ticket.

So I was supposed to go to Chaing Mai and Pai with my bitches and drink beer, but they were broke.  So instead I joined Scott on his wander through Malaysia.

He only had a ticket into Malaysia and absolutely no plans on what he was going to see or where he wanted to go.

Chrissy couldn't believe that I trusted anyone that much to go along with him and his lack of plans.  My mother seemed suprised that I hadn't started making plans for him.

I just figured it would make it all the more entertaining.

So we took off from Bangers at an Un-Holy hour of Monday morning and fly into Penang.  It's a little island off the west coast of Malaysia.  We go to the hotel and I just start grabbing all maps and travel lit sitting around in the lobby.  And hand it off to Scott.  Oh yes, it felt good not being the one to make plans.

Before we start our trek of the city, we go to lunch.  To an Indian restaurant.  And I liked it.  I'll give you a minute to pick yourself up off the floor......do do do do do do do.........do do do do do doot do do do do.......dun duh duh duh dun dun dun (did anyone actually recognize that as the theme to Jeopardy?  No?  Just use your imagination)

We were staying in Georgetown so we went to the Komtor Tower to check out a view of the city.  Start the bad '80's music.  And the even worse '80's decour.  I felt like I was in a crappy '80's prom movie.  But the view was spectacular.

We then went to Fort Cornwallis.  Where the British were.  A really long time ago.  And they did some stuff.

We then wandered around Chinatown and Little India and some other random streets and saw some buildings and a couple of clocks and a mosque.  Etc, you get the idea.

So I had heard that the English was good in Malaysia, but I hadn't quite expected it to be as good as it was.  It was nice being able to ask for directions and understand the response.
