Tupiza

From the Bolivian border we wanted to take a bus to Tupiza. They told us that the road is blocked and that all the buses are delayed.  After a two hours waiting, we managed to take a taxi to the blockage, pass it by foot, and from there we took the bus to Tupiza. The bus looked just like the buses I used to see in the checkpoints in the west bank during my army service. All the backpacks went up to the roof, and we were on our way.  Inside the bus was very hot, but I couldn`t open the window because the dust from outside was unbareable. There are no roads in Bolivia, only dust paths !

After a 3 hours drive, we were finally in Tupiza. We went to a nice hostel which has hot water, cable TV and nice breakfast. I heard some scary stories about Bolivia, but I have to admit that the hostel was amazing, even better than some hostels in Argentina.  The next day we went to ride on horses. The riding takes 7 hours, including stop for lunch. The view is amazing, and the horses take you to places you can never see by yourself. The desert landscape is so powerful you just stare at the mountains and can`t believe it`s so beautiful. It`s almost like in the wild west, with all those cactuses, red mountains and clear blue sky. The horses are really fast, and once one of them starts running, the others are doing the same.  The riding was very fun, and the running was even more fun, but after 7 hours like that, you just want to go down, and leave the horse alone. My ass is feeling a little bad at the moment, and I`m glad that we decided to take the one day trip instead of the two or three days...
