ok. this place is literally fucking awasome, excuse my french. we get here at 5am on thursday and hang out in the terminal, which reeked of pisco, that i, of course, broke, and for lack of any paper products was unable to clean it up. while were in the terminal we are approached by many folk who try to get us to go to their hostels. anywway, at about 8am we dedide to start lugging ourselves around and look for some coffee. we were approached by a lady who was pressuring us to go to the Cabana hostel, which was reccomended to us by a girl at the terminal. we take a business card and tell her well think about it. she insists that all the coffeeshops are cxlosed, and she keeps following us., we really didnt know how to ditch her, so we just kept walking. after a few minutes i realize i have no idea where were going, so i asked her, and she answered, to the cabana. so, sure enough we found ourselves at the cabana, and we spent the day having coffe and tea in various places and going to the market, which had some pretty unbelievable things, including guinea pigs, wihich streangely enough did not aoruse my apetite. during the night we didnt really sleep for various reasons, and we all imagined little bugs were crawling all over us all night. maybe they were, who knows. i am still getting used to the altitude. its about 3100 meters here and first day was kind of tough. now im feeling muych better. some of the trekks here reach upto 6000 meters and more, so we need to take it slow. today we went to this lagoon, we left at 10am (we were supposed to leave at 9 but trheir timing tends to be off here apparently. ) we got back at 730pmish, cause the whole way we had about 20 stops at random shops and stuff where you can buy struff. mostly random stuff that even if i wanted to buy i couldnt fit into my backpack. everything here is pretyy cheap, we pay about 4$ a night including breakfast, and eating out is never more than 10$ for the three of us. tonight the plan is to find some wine and hopefully thatll help us sleep, cause its really really hard to sleep here, i think its cause of the altitude.the food here is prety gross, but if you talk to people they tell you where the decent stuff is. all they eat here is rice corn and ch icken and pork and fried fish and evferything is pretty bland. but whatre ya gonna do....they say you get what you pay for...the people at the hostel are all really nice and we all hang out and its pretty chill. so far so good, adios.
