The day after the wedding we were all feeling less than average.
Stephanie and I made our way to Heathrow to suffer the lines of people. Lots of police with machine guns etc, 2 check-in counter staff at British Airways was going to the make the afternoon just super. The flight up was late but Stephanie's boyfreind, Richard, was there to pick us up.
Stephanie has recently purchased a lovelly little place here in Edinburgh and Richard lives 10 mins walk from there. As it's not a large city it's easy to get around. I'm told that the city swells from 450,000 people in non-festival time to approx 900,000 during the festival. There's a fantastic atmosphere here at the moment.
Last time I was back in Edinburgh it was over 8 years ago and I didn't get to see much of Edinburgh city. It is a beautiful place though.
Monday night we went to Dean & Pauls place (friends of Richards) and they live right near the cathedral. The Edinburgh tattoo is on every night here and their places overlooks the street where they march out. Very nice. We had intentions of having a few drinks somewhere but we didn't quite make it out of their flat.
Wednesday Steph took me on a walking tour of Edinburgh and I got to see the city from up on high. Just spectacular. We got tickets to a couple of the festival events and we're going back tonight for the next one. There is just so much choice on what to see.
