Little Sharon turned one on December 16th. Since the 15th was the last day of school, we had a huge birthday party for her on Friday with the entire school attending. It is very common to celebrate the kids' birthdays at school like this - complete with cake, food, gift bags, gifts and, sometimes, music and dancing.
Sharon was dressed in her princess gown, patten leather shoes and "jeweled" crown. She was darling and quite the princess! She just started walking a couple of weeks ago, but was pretty steady on her feet as she ran around and even danced a few dances! As everyone sang Happy Birthday, she joined in with her own rendition.
Her cake was adorned with a kitty candle. When Mark lit it, the kitty started burning up! It ended up being "hollow" and almost flamed up. Luckily, Sharon had help blowing out the candle, so the cake was saved!
I think she has this party thing all figured out! What do you think?
