It's a hard knock life

I first arrived here in late 2003 with a treasured mate of mine Steve. We arrived before the tourists did. Before the dive shops did. Before the Italian's would. There were only 2 dive shops on the island then. There are now 14. However this explosion of interest into this magical place has not damaged it. Atleast not L***** B*****. Sorry its got to stay out of LP. After a confirmation from a text message from Steve about exactly where it was... (well actually it was a little late - we were already on the boat!) we arrived into darkness to that same old Seafood BBQ at Siam Hut that Steve and I had experienced 3 years ago. Silke had to wait 12 hours to see this islands real beauty. 6 am and she was hooked.

We spent about 10 days here and as you can see by the pictures below it's beauty is surreal. 300 Baht  (4 quid) waterfront properties must be the cheapiest and best value in Thailand.

It was ten days of peace, ten days of pure beauty and ten days of diving. Silke overcame a great fear and is now an Open Water Diver... And looking forward to diving in SA!

Ill let the picures tell you the rest...
