Crocodile lake

Text written in: English

Life at the Crocodile Lake is eternal peace. it is really the only way to describe it. The lake has many different species of fish (including pirannas) as well as crocodiles and anacondas.

We all live in a 18mX6m house. I will be moving out when I return to Betania since the house they are building me will be completed by then.

I am dieting on various plants which means that I drink various parts of whichever plant I am dieting on and are not allowed to eat breakfast and certain foods. Sometimes we fast for two days. It is not that bad. I am used to it by now.

My day typically consist of learning healing songs and shamanic theory as well as painting and learning to play the Kenna, which is a flute traditionally played here. In the aftrnoons I would go for walks with one of the shaman to explore the jungle or he would take me canoeing on the lake. It takes quite a bit of balance to keep the boat afloat. Afterwards I would walk in the jungle with another shaman to learn about the medicinal plants. In the evenings we have Ayawasca ceremonies, relax or go to bed early.

I have not started to teach them Tai Chi because they have been busy with my house but will do so when I return.

I also had to buy new clothes because mine are were way to big. I have lots of energy, feel great and am having a fabulous time.

There are on average 4 or five shamans present on any given day. Sometimes more. They are building a shaman school, which is a first for Peru. I will be the firs alumni of the school. Last night (12 Novemeber 2006) we had a ceremony where the were at least 10 shamans. It was great.
