One More Day in Barcelona

Text written in: English

One inexpensive bed the next night on the overnight train to Milan was available.  I wanted to book it on the spot, but the ticket office closed at 10:00 pm and as I peeked at my watch, I noticed that it was 10:05pm.  My only chance at this last precious bed (and saving 150 Euros) was to be at the ticket office at 6:30am sharp and pray that no one else in the country had woken up in an earlier time zone with the same desperation.  I am not good in the morning, but I dragged myself to the station with one eye half open and the other one completely shut.  I showed the guy or gal my old ticket, and he gave me a new one.  I am not sure if I spoke or not, and up to the moment when I boarded the train, I had no idea if I had received the right ticket.  Who knew if I was getting a nice comfy bed or a bridk seat with spikes sticking out.  Luck was with me, a cot all to myself.  A leisurely trip to Milan, and time to decide which day to cut out of Italy, probably Rome.  I mean is there really anything to see or do there?
