After the trip to the Cathedral it was time to stop by the giant bullfighting stadium, ten minutes south of the cathedral-just go down one street.  No problem.  I looked forever and they must have moved the stadium.  It should have been where I was.  Now, we all no that I have difficulties with direction, but what happened only proves that something out there in the universe contributes greatly to these difficulties.  I went south on the one street I needed to according to the map.  Two hours later I ended up far north west of the cathedral.  Someone somewhere transported me there.  I could not have possibly have gone that far off course.

Two hours later I found the cathedral I had originally left behind, and it was even more spectacular than ever in the evening as it was lit up all over.  And "no" I do not think some entity out there purposefully sent me in the wrong direction so that I would see this lovely sight at night.  Some thing out there simply loves to play with my life.

The National Museum of Art near the Olympic Stadium tops almost any other museum I have stepped into in the past two months.  The Romanesque period art is the highlight.  I have visited many a church and seen many a Christian piece of artwork, but this place tops them all. In the Cathedrals, often the murals or paintines are high up or dusty or dark.  This museum has taken the best of such artworks in Catalonia, restored them and placed them in the museum in the context they were found.  For instance, murals taken from arches have been place on replica arches in the museum.  Every art piece is visually stunning and looks like it was created yesterday.  Fantastic, and afterwards I happened to walk past a nice concert by this South American group (each members plays maybe five instruments).  It was very nice.

By the way, why in every museum ever created is the piece of art I am looking at "one of the finest examples of..." or "this is one of the most important collections in the museum."  I must have heard these phrases a dozen times each in the National Museum of Art and in every other museum.  How can every art work be the finest?  Does this many that any art work that isn't the ยจ"finest" should be in higher demand because there are so few of them?

Barcelona-definitely a city with a vibe.  Altough I did do it twice again.  Yes, I walked in and paid hefty prices for two modern art museums.  When will I ever learn.  Although the artwork of Joan Miro in the Fundacio Joan Miro was strange and inventive.  I especially enjoyed the remote controlled piano that knockeed around giant styrofoam statues of Joan Miro hung on wires and afterwards started chasing around tourists, including myself.  He is more than a little risque though, and the works of other artists in the museum were not my cup of tea.  I don't actually drink tea or coffee.

Time to sleep for next day is day trip day.
