Waking up to a perfect blue sky, being greeted by a sparkling blue fjord amongst grey cliffs.... a very cool start to the day.  My last two days in Norway involved a lot of driving but some of the most dramatic scenery I have seen in my life.  Anna and I along with her mum Ewa and her mum's friend Gosia headed about 450kms north west of Oslo to see Geiranger fjord and trollveger.  On the way we passed through Lilleheimer and checked out a miniture replica of the town, very cute, and I got used to hearing the others speak Polish [a language where even a simple discussion about the weather sounds like an argument].  As we drove nearer to the fjord the landscape became more rugged with towering cliff faces, green rivers and ice on the hills.  In Geiranger we stayed in a very cute cabin with grass on the roof overlooking the fjord.  I got to try more traditional norwegian fare, bbqued sausages wrapped in kind of thin pancakes, very delicious.

The next day we drove to Trollveger and Trollsteiger.  We were up very high in the mountains surrounded by stark, arid rocky landscape with incredible views that I find hard to describe so will leave it up to the photos.  Once we hit the summit we had to make our way down the most crazy windy road I have ever seen before getting to the tallest vertical rock wall in the whole of Europe at 5,500 feet.  It looked like something out of Lord of the Rings and definitly a place where trolls would live.

I was stoked to check out this part of Norway and it was great to get away from big cities for a while.  Norway is a stunning place and I was so grateful to Anna and her family for showing me around.  My time here was short though I have promised Annas mum that next time Ill be back for longer and a promise is a promise.
