We left London at 10:50am flying with Air Malta flight KM101 (Heathrow Terminal 4). The flight time was about three hours.
I didn't really know anyone that was going so they were all in for a big surprise ;-) The flight was un-eventful. I sat next to a guy that didn't speak any English so we passed the time drinking red wine and toasting each other every few minutes. Air Malta give you a small bottle of wine with your meal. You then have to pay 50p Maltese for each one after that. This didn't proove to be any sort of problem. Cheap really.
When we got to the airport team leader bundled us into some minivans and it was then off to catch the ferry for the crossing over to Gozo.
Once we got to Gozo our dive people picked us up and took us to Marsalforn Bay where we would be basing operations for the next few days. It is a touristy sort of place with lots of english people walking around. It has some quite good bars and restaurants and on the whole was a very successful place to hang-out.
