Our fabulous other Inkaterra hotel was next to the river in town. Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel http://www.inkaterra.com/machu_picchu_pueblo_hotel/index.htm. This place so totally rocked. The buildings blended seamlessly in with the grounds though it was difficult to find your way around. But still...huge rooms with huge bathrooms and a shower with all the hot water you want, robes folded and waiting for you on the bed and on the floor recycled tire (or some sort) environmentally friendly slippers. Even a totally comfy sitting area which we ended up using to toss our stuff everywhere. ;) This was the first place I had internet access (Thank g-d for access!! as I find out that a tropical storm had just passed by Florida that morning). The hotel is on the outskirts of the Cloud Forest and has miles of trails and they offer guided tours past their hummingbirds as they have set up sugar water feeders so you can just sit there and watch them flutter and feed. And also through the world's largest private orchid collection (372 native species) growing in it's own natural habitat. Their staff even discovered new species growing on the grounds.
