This morning we had a last few meetings, then after lunch it was time to head back to NYC for a couple of nights with Christabel, Craig and James. The drive back down was pretty straightforward until we hit the city at peak time and sat in some traffic on our way through to JFK airport.
We dropped the car off and got the Long Island train in to Pennsylvania Station ($5 off-peak). Our hotel was the Pennsylvania, right above the station. The hotel is enormous and the rooms aren't anything special, but they are clean and the location is just fantastic. We were on the 16th floor but we had an inside-facing room so we couldn't see much. That's what you get for cheap internet deals I guess :)
We headed out onto the streets and found a great French cafe on Broadway.. I had the delicious steak I had been craving.
It was edging closer to midnight, so we walked down to Union Square to find Borders, since we had heard there was an event on there for the HP7 launch. As we approached we realised the line was enormous and stretched almost the entire way around the block! There were lots of people dressed up as wizards and witches too. We decided not to bother lining up, but as we headed back towards the hotel we found a comic book shop that was also having a midnight event, and there was hardly anyone in there! So we got the book there :)
