Halong Bay

Despite having done it before, I decided to book a three day trip to Halong Bay. In this case, I believe that it seemed even nicer than last time. Maybe it was because we had perfect weather, blue skies, no clouds, no rain! The first night there, we saw the most beautiful sunrise. I think the nicest I have ever seen. The pictures don't do it justice.

It does seem like it has become much more toursity, you are constantly surrounded by other boats doing exactly the same thing. I was lucky, and had a small group, only 6 of us the first day and just 3 the second! We kayaked, me looking for the jellyfish that I remember seeing last time, and not finding any. On the second day, the three of us decided to skip the hiking, because it was so hot, and instead kayaked to a deserted beach and spent the morning there. Miraculously I managed to not get burnt as there was no shade in sight.

We spent the second night on an Island popular with vacationing Vietnemese, and I don't think I have ever seen a busier beach. It was fun to sit and watch all the action around you. The last day we spent cruising back to the harbour, and driving back to Hanoi. Definitely a worthwhile trip!
