Grindage - Antigua Taberna (founded in like the 1300s, that's before my country was even discovered!)
Siesta - Some Pension that the HOME hostel employees recommended
Bartender - Alfalfa St.
- - - - - - -
Pre-notes:
darse cuenta - to realise
"no me di cuenta" - I didn't realise...
Events:
- Saw Giralda Cathedral/Church. About 83 stories to the top along a ramp! At least it wasn't stairs!
- Met Carla Gray, a Spanish teacher from Mississippi, working for the ARMY in Spain.
-
Saw football with Kai & Seth (VA kids I met in my hostel). A
group of their friends are studying Spanish in Seville so I'll prob be
hanging out with them a couple more times!
- Saw flamenco dancing. Met Cristiano (Milano, Italia).
- Assessed the party scene at Alfalfa St.
Notes:
-
It helps not to take a specific tour group. Just tag along to the
tour groups at various points when you want to know more details about
something. You learn a lot more then they're going to present
anyways. It also helps if you know other languages because they
generally have tour groups in multiple languages. & the tour
groups in other languages generally have more details that the
non-native speaking ones don't include because of the limited vocab of
the tour guide. Amen.
- Alfalfa St. is this sweet street in
the historic district where all the foreigners hang out cos it's just a
line of bars on both sides. Everyone stands in the middle of the
street and drinks and socializes. When cars drive through, people
pretty much don't move but create a small passage for the car to get
through. Good luck driving!
Stories:
-
Met Kai and Seth on top of my hostel the night before when I heard
some kids with an East Coast US accent talking. I went up to
investigate and we ended up talking on the top of the hostel for a few
hours.
- After the flamenco show, I was trying to find my way back
to the hostel being escorted by Cristiano. We were walking in the
middle of the streets (they're totally deserted at night) and singing
songs that we both knew - like little kids songs. It was a riot.
-
We saw these 3 kids from UK in the streets while we were walking and I
ended up talking to them later that night along Alfalfa.
