backpacker workout

Text written in: English

the life of a backpacker isn't all laziness and sloth, we at least get some exercise...(came up with this somewhere in jaipur)

backpacker workout

never-ending hostel search - with a pack filled to capacity, wander the city for (sometimes) hours in search of the perfect hostel. dont settle for less. keep looking. beneftis: legs. a word of caution: if with a partner, don't hold out for too long or mental health may take a hit.

hostel stair climb - climb flight after flight of stairs in seach of the perfect room. always decline to leave bags at the front desk (but not out of safety concerns, obviously). advanced move: insist on only 3rd floor rooms or higher. benefits: legs

cant-believe-theyre-dirty-again clothes washing - always hand-wash your clothes - don't pay someone else to do it. wring clothes until they're bone dry. option: elicit help of a partner for dual workout. benefit: arms. option: do this in a g-string. benefit: skip to next.

backpacker sex - definitely best workout is with a partner. benefit: total mind and body (unless you regret it a little in the morning).

the get-lost-but-be-too-cheap-to-hire-transport-back-home walkabout - or go touring on foot. basically walk for km after km all day, in bad footwear, avoiding sewers and dog poo. benefits: legs

rent a bike! - screw cabs, motobikes, rickshaw drivers, tours, etc and bike around the countryside. benefits: legs

change locations - pack up pack (probably on an empty stomache), hoist pack onto back, onto bus, off bus, back onto back, etc etc. combine with hostel search and hostel stair climb, above. benefits: upper body

emergency TP dash - when you have none, but suddenly you really need some. benefits: legs and sphincter muscle tightening

late for bus pack-n-dash - like 'change locations' only faster and with added mental-stress workout. benefits: upper body & legs, but physical bennies cancelled by shock of no-alarm wake up & fear of being stranded in this god-forsaken town for one more day.

clubbing - facilities not available in all cities, but take full advantage where available. benefits: another total mind/body workout (unless the DJ sucks, or you get hit-on by scum)

a good dump* - fair 'nuf, not exactly a huge workout, but given the dodgy and/or non-existent facilities, whenever you perfectly time the urge with acceptable location AND toilet paper....you can't help but feel like a champion. benefits: intestines, colon, etc etc

*especially satisfying if occurs after the 'emergency tp dash'

and some mini-diet programs, since exercise alone will never cut it:   1) get up so late that 'breakfast' is really 'lunch' - now you only need 2 meals a day. (side benefit: saves money)   2) spend multiple hours on local transport avoiding questionable local food, literally eating nothing but peanuts.   3) get an intestinal disorder
