have realized I've been to bangkok more than any other city (besides one's I've lived in). for sure feels like some sort of homecoming . despite it's grungy buildings, poluted water, gross old men hitting on young thai girls, smog, traffic....there's something about this cities energy that I just groove with. thai food, sky train, sois, street food, back alleys, the river, street sweepers (sweeping the entire city by hand!), wats, unlimited sky scrapers.....and a sound track just makes it better (go ipod).

petros pointed out the absense of green spaces which gotta admit I'd never really noticed. never mind I made him walk to the old city down a car/motorbike/smog choked road on a hot, humid day. as opposed to taking a tuk-tuk or taxi, cause I'm too cheap. clearly gave him a crap impression of the city :( and just proves I make a crummy tour guide....(kiss that job idea goodbye, I guess).

yesterday we overdosed on small electronics window shopping and stumbled across a japanese animae costume fest. guess it was a promotion to get kids to go to school in japan....or at least rope young girls into their lets-just-call-it-'esoteric' sex trade. whatever it was, always cool to catch a bit of stereotypical asia.

the river through town is at near flood stage - we rode the ferry and saw fish markets and houses basically underwater. this place will be a mess in 2 weeks as water keeps rising and tides increase. glad we're outty in a couple days.

last night we hit bed supper club and once again it didn't disapoint. 2 stellar djs, we bopped from one room to the other. happily, like the last time I was here, the crowd was a refreshingly unpretentious mix of locals and tourists. also met a couple sri lankans who said their country is no prob to visist and the scene there is brillaint. sweet - will for sure file that for future consideration...take that tamil tigers...

today more sight seeing in the hot humid weather. and more thai food!!! then into the chaos of india...

the new bangkok airport loads of glass n stainless steel my kind of place! and loads better than the last airport clearly the flooding in bangkok didn't bother the dog back on the river ferry with the monks (I think I have the exact same pic from 5 months ago...) see - not sure he's having a good time ;) soon-to-be-flooded temple flood stage river karaoke kiosk animae wanna be clearly they captured the look I love everything about this poster: chinese communist-style art but with modern consumer-consumption logos. brilliant. happy cats (can't tell here, but they were waving away...) individually wrapped sushi (note the hello kitty knock off sushi...more brilliance from the japanese) inside bed supper club for you linda - completely disgusted that this was in the club...
