how lucky am I. no ac for me on the train, but I got the lower bunk and on the side that soaks up the breeze from the one open window.

when I got over how much the berth looked like a prison cell - the hard sleepers were metal tables with ratan mats on top (and never mind that I was ate biscuits and water for dinner) - it got kind of cozy and I actually slept! better than most bus rides, too.

sapa is already amazing. I scored the sweetest room - awesome view, great price. today I didn't leave it - just did art things and watched the rain roll in. the vibe reminds me of the sacred valley in peru. tomorrow I rent a mountain bike and explore these hills.

a question for you - if you had to eat one, which would you pick:

   - blended toad

   - dog

   - bugs

   - chick embryo

   - deep fat fried chick

ps - I like how english words get translated into viet namese. they like to split words apart, so you get things like: bar bershop & hon da
