Stopover in Amsterdam

Well, I arrived in Amsterdam 3 hours late.  Our take-off in Toronto was delayed due to mechanical problems, but fortunately I was seated in business class (thank you dad!) so I was well fed and entertained the whole time.  We landed in Amsterdam at about 11am local time, and my connecting flight to Stockholm had taken off at 10:20am.  I was rebooked on a flight at 1pm, and spent the rest of the morning enjoying the KLM business class lounge.  This involved free food and alcohol, which I took advantage of when I found out the results of the federal election the night before.  Yes, the fact that my home county is now run by a conservative (minority!) government drove me to drink at 11am... this is even worse when you consider that it was only 5am according to my body, which had only had about 5 hours of very broken sleep the night before!  Still, the free Heineken helped me sleep when I finally got on the plane to Stockholm...

I have some photos I took while taking off and landing at the Amsterdam airport, but haven't uploaded them yet... I'm working on it and will post them soon!
